Duties
Component Mission Statement: The National Intelligence Council (NIC) consists of the most senior intelligence analysts supporting the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) in carrying out responsibilities as the head of the Intelligence Community (IC) and as the principal adviser to the President for intelligence matters related to national security. The NIC produces a variety of all-source, IC coordinated intelligence reports, including its flagship product, the National Intelligence Estimate, which represents the Intelligence Community's most authoritative statement on a key national security issue.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Drive, direct, and review all-source mid and long-term strategic analysis of Economic Issues. Serve as the subject matter expert and advise the DNI in support of the DNI's role as the principal intelligence advisor to the president.
Provide timely expert assessments of critical Economic Issues for senior policy makers. Develop and implement a program of analysis that support key US national security and foreign policy objectives and help shape IC analysis and collection priorities. Lead and contribute to the preparation, production and coordination of National Intelligence Estimates, community-coordinated papers, and other analysis in support of US foreign policy and national security interests.
Deliver insightful and impactful briefs to senior IC members, senior policy makers, military decision makers, members of Congress, and other major stakeholders that distill complex concepts and strategic analysis in a clear manner. Engage with senior policy makers, as appropriate, to ensure comprehensive understanding of US foreign policy and national security priorities.
Develop and implement outreach to academia, think tanks, the business community, and other non-government subject matter experts to deepen understanding of key aspects of the Economic Issues portfolio and build new areas of expertise.
Serve as a member of the NIC council and align Economic Issues analytical program with other NIO programs, share insights, and jointly develop and implement cross-cutting and interdisciplinary projects.
Recruit, train and develop analysts.
Recognize, value, build and leverage diverse collaborative networks within the ODNI, including with mission management partners, and across the IC to provide strategic input that informs national intelligence and collection priorities and mission development needs, and facilitates timely and appropriate intelligence support of policy makers on Economic Issues.
Lead, manage, and direct a professional level staff, evaluate performance, collaborate on goal setting, and provide feedback and guidance regarding personal and professional development opportunities

Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
Deep analytic thinker with extensive knowledge of, and experience working on applied economic analysis. Exceptionally strong critical thinking skills to identify, undertake, guide, and direct strategic analysis of economic issues. Outstanding ability to conceptualize and effectively lead complex analytic projects across a broad spectrum of economic issues of national security importance.
Expert capability in at least one Economic Issues focus areas, including but not limited to supply chains, techno-economic competition, energy, economic security tools, financial markets, international trade and finance, as well as country-specific, regional, and global economic issues. Superior ability to work on interdisciplinary teams, including with other NIC functional and regional offices, to ensure integrated analysis of foreign policy and national security issues.
Expert communication skills, including the ability to exert influence with senior leadership, communicate effectively with people at all staff levels, both internal and external to the organization, and to deliver clear and effective oral presentations of analytic judgements, complex strategic analysis, and other issues as required.
Superior ability to prepare and review finished intelligence assessments and other written products with an emphasis on clear organization, conciseness, and logical presentation.
Expert leadership and managerial skills, including the ability to assess and manage performance, support personal and professional development at all levels of personnel, nurture a collaborative environment within the NIC, and develop and maintain effective relationships within the broader IC.
Direct the development and implementation of controls and policies to provide guidance to management officials, and coordinate internal and external initiatives to ensure alignment with key intelligence priorities.- Experience working in the IC, or on foreign policy and national security with knowledge of the IC's analytic community
